Artwork
This pencil drawing was created from looking at a picture of myself when I was a sophomore in high school. I am a dedicated athlete and I am in many sports. I am in football, hockey, track, and baseball. I did wrestling for 2 ½ years before I had to choose between that and hockey. I have spent hours and hours working on making myself stronger and faster for sports. I am a student with A’s and B’s. I have dreams to go to college for sports and if that doesn’t work out I hope to become an orthodontist. My parents own a camper that we parked at the Golden Pond Campground. When I was really young my twin brother cut the tip of my finger with a pair of scissors. I still have the scar to this day.

The name of my project is “Fruit of the Loom” is a still life project and my medium is colored pencil. This shows vibrant colors and gives beauty to the tasty foods of nature. I like to visit different places in nature like parks and going camping. Camping is an essential part of my life because my family camps just about every weekend they are free to go. The things you see in nature are amazing. The leaves fall from the tree and you can watch how nature goes from green and flourishing to dry and almost like a wasteland. There is great history behind fruit. Fruit has been part of our diets for thousands of years. Fruits have been part of my diet specifically since I was a baby. They are really easy to eat. They are very healthy for you and I have to stay healthy for sports.

My artwork is called “Variety Fish '' and it is a piece with pointillism, impressionism, abstract, and realism in the medium of acrylic. I chose this because I grew up with my dad who fished and always tried to find the coolest fish. We have our camper set up at a lake in Minnesota. It’s a small lake and very quiet. There is lots of fishing you can do because the lake is overfished like many larger, more popular lakes. Fishing is a very relaxing thing where you can just get away from people and pop a cold drink. I found this fish interesting because of its vibrant colors and large fins. This is why I chose to paint this.

My artwork is called “A Story in a Dream.” It is a piece in realism using watercolor to bring my dreams to life. It is about a wizard fighting a giant lava monster who is strong enough to take over the whole world and this is the final fight. I chose this because even if dreams are weird and wacky they are supposed to have meaning. I found these creatures especially interesting because they show a brave wizard fighting for the life of humanity against a world threat. The big lava monsters show pollution and corruption in the world while the wizard is the good side of humanity battling these horrible things in the world.
My artwork is called “Troubles of History” in medium acrylic. This piece shows the problems and conflicts throughout history and this specific person shows it because his name is King Leopold of Belgium who enslaved the Congo Free State. He dismembered and massacred thousands of innocent people all for his own personal bank account. He was a rich man that had to be controlled and when he used his personal army to imperialize this land he exploited and used it the entire time. He was forced off of this land by his own people telling him and got exposed by photographers. There were pictures of people missing limbs and lots of them died. They were workers to death and even shot. It shows how the greed of human nature can affect a person and blind them from the reasonable morals of humanity.
